[Abstract] The energy consumption ranks the 12th in the country. Shaanxi Province has made important progress in energy conservation and emission reduction in recent years. In 2012, Shaanxi Province had a total energy consumption of 106.25 million tons of standard coal, achieving a GDP of 1,445.1 billion yuan. The energy consumption of GDP dropped to 0.816 tons of standard coal, and the energy consumption level ranked 12th in the country. The carbon dioxide emissions per million yuan GDP completed the target task for two consecutive years, which effectively promoted the economic and scientific development of the province. To cultivate 100 circular economy demonstration models, the province will make every effort to promote the development of energy-saving and low-carbon industries and strictly limit the planning and layout of high energy-consuming projects.
